2018-2019 Board of Directors

The FPW Board is more than an Advisory Board; we are a working Board of Directors that meets monthly. Each board meeting begins with a prayer meeting to pray for the requests submitted at the monthly luncheons. Each board member has a description of their responsibilities and committee assignments, and signs an annual covenant of their commitment and confidentially.

Cynthia Mickens Ross - President

  • Cynthia Mickens RossCynthia Mickens Ross is a dynamic and charismatic Speaker, Teacher, Coach, and Author. She offers words of wisdom that are thought-provoking and life-changing. Cynthia believes you must seek God for your life purpose and not others. She is determined to lead others into their divine destiny and her motivational message inspires people to discover that purpose is essential to living the life they are created to live. She has authored, and teaches, a 12-week spiritual and personal development course entitled, "Path~Way to Purpose®." Her program helps individuals discover their natural gifts, talents, and abilities. Since its inception in 2002, "Path~Way to Purpose®" has been a resounding success helping to transform the lives of countless individuals. Cynthia serves as the Director of Community Relations & External Affairs at Methodist Charlton Medical Center and is the Senior Pastor of Path~Way to Life Center of Hope Church in Hutchins, Texas. She also serves as Founder & CEO of Cynthia Mickens Ministries, Inc. and the Path~Way to Purpose® Residential Housing program. She is chair of the Best Southwest Partnership and board member of Leadership Dallas Alumni. Cynthia is married to the love of her life, David E. Myrna Acklin - Secretary

  • Myrna AcklinMyrna Acklin has attended Fellowship of Professional Women for about 10 years after retiring from Corporate American where she worked for an Insurance Company. She has attended many Bible studies over the years including Next Step through Life Mark Ministries for the last 15 years with many of those years in a leadership capacity. Myrna has served on the Board of South Collin County Infant Program, Richardson Development Center, Marriage Mentors and Golden Corridor Republican Women. In 2013, the National Federation of Republican Women Convention was held in Kentucky, which Myrna attended as an alternate delegate. In addition, she has attended several state conventions as a delegate with the Texas Federation of Republican Women. She has worked numerous times as an Election Clerk for local, state and national elections and along with her husband, Ed, has been a State Delegate for the Republican Party the last 2 years. Myrna has been married to Ed for 19 years, has two grown sons and 2 granddaughters. Having raised a special needs child of her own, Myrna's heart and passion is for the families of those with special needs. They attend Prestonwood Baptist Church.

Marilyn Jones - Treasurer

  • Marilyn JonesMarilyn Jones is a REALTOR® with Ebby Halliday. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Azusa Pacific College (now University), she spent 20+ years in corporate and non-profit business administration. This background enables her to simplify the process for buyers, sellers, and investors. She treats each person with the same honesty, integrity, and care that she would want. Her knowledge of the market and attention to detail inspire trust and confidence. As the widow of a Vietnam Veteran, Marilyn is still connected with many of the men who served in the Casper Platoon, 173rd Airborne Division where her husband served. She is especially passionate about assisting Veterans and considers it a special ministry to lead them and their families through what may be the largest transaction of their lives. Marilyn is a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, where she was named the 2017 Ambassador of the Year. Marilyn has two grown children, Stacy and Ryan, who live nearby, along with their spouses and her six grandchildren. Tammy Simmons - Director

  • Tammy SimmonsTammy's mortgage banking career spans over 25 years and has a long tenure of 12 years with Independent Bank. She has seen many versions of the mortgage market and has a wealth of experience and knowledge to best advise her clients and strategic partners. Tammy helps her clients understand the options available to them and works with them to develop a mortgage strategy that works within the client's budgetary, equity, and overall financial objectives. Her superior customer service skills drive her repeat and referral based business. Tammy has long roots in the Plano community and attended Texas Tech University. She is a member of Northwood Woman's Club and through her membership serves as a volunteer for several nonprofit organizations. Frances McGill - Director

  • Frances McGillFrances is Owner, "The McGill Coaching Group," "A Certified Coach (Life Coach) Practitioner," for more than five years; and, a retiree from the US Government for 30+ years. During her tenure with the EEOC, as Investigator, she defended one of her cases @ the Federal District Court, Tyler, TX. At, EEOC & Department of Labor, as District Director, Frances has coached, encouraged, mentored, lead, managed, trained; individuals - investigators, managers, leaders. Also, during her twenty + yrs employment with DOL, Frances was chosen to lead a "National Initiative, "The Glass Ceiling Initiative for Dallas, she was honored, recognized for an effective, successful investigation. She graduated from Prairie View A& M University with a BS degree. She also graduated with: two year "Leadership Program at Mountain View College, Leadership Southwest, and Leadership with the Oak Cliff Bible Church." She is a Life Member of "the Delta Sigma Theta," a National African American Sorority for more than thirty years. She volunteers with Oak Cliff Bible Church as A Deaconess, & Coach for a Small Groups of facilitators, Marital Group, Couples and any other individuals that are referred to her. Additionally, volunteers as a Board Member with the Dallas Women Council, where she serves as Secretary. Frances coaches, directs, leads her Life Coach clients to live a balanced life; in all areas of their lives.

Sara Benavides - Director

  • Sara began her career at Botsford Financial Group in 2012 as the assistant to the Director of New Business Development and Marketing. Shortly after joining the Botsford team, her role changed to include being Erin Botsford's executive assistant. Even with all of the above job functions, Sara is instrumental in leading Botsford Financial Group's new clients through the process in a professional and diligent manner. Sara insists all clients have a rewarding and enlightening experience as family members of Botsford Financial Group. Sara has a Bachelor Degree in Biology from the University of North Texas. When she's not in the office, Sara and her husband, Jonathan, are busy with their three munchkins, Xavier, Addison and Kimber. Andrea Sallis - Director

  • Andrea Sallis is a serial entrepreneur, social-impact advocate, speaker and business mentor recognized for her quick ability to assimilate partnership opportunities with results-oriented leadership. A consummate networker, Andrea has successfully turned "contacts into contracts" for over 15 years, as a businesswoman leading successful start-ups, real estate projects, investor relations and event production. Andrea is the Visionary Officer for Healthway Education Systems and Healthway Wellness and is also a master facilitator for SIL faith-based Trauma Healing Institute. Her passion lies in empowering women and youth to realize their full potential, and to bring life to those who may have experiences tragedies as the Founder of Healing the Hurting Heart Ministries. Andrea is the proud mother of (Mrs.) Marla Manous, Carmen Sallis and Courtney Bailey in heaven and 3 wonderful grandsons. She attends Amity Bible Church where she exercises her gifts in the children's and small groups ministries.

Heather Young - Director

  • Heather YoungA Texas native, Heather began her professional career as Marketing Director for OrthoTexas Physicians & Surgeons, PLLC - a thriving orthopedic practice, now with 6 Dallas area offices plus a rehabilitation facility at The Star in Frisco. During her tenure, Heather grew the practice by implementing long term strategic goals, building strong customer relationships, while managing the marketing functions, including social media. Arriving at Methodist Hospital for Surgery in 2015 as Community Relations Manager, Heather has guided the expansion of physician service options and marketing activities, including managing all internal and external communications and supervising volunteer recruitment and education. Heather is a graduate of the University of Houston with a B.S. in Kinesiology, and has earned a Master's Degree in Public Health, specializing in Community Health Education, from New Mexico State University. Heather is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD). Her volunteer activities have benefitted the older adult population at VNA, at-risk youth at My Friend's House and the children of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Plano.
